Herringbone Pattern Wood Table Top

I decided i wanted my wood pieces to be four times as long as they are wide to give a nice even pattern.
Herringbone pattern wood table top. The best part of this herringbone table top is that it s made almost entirely out of pine 2 x 4 s ie. I m using pine which was selected by my customers. Before starting my herringbone table top i did a bit of research into how to do a nice herringbone pattern. I went to work on the plans and after talking with ashely we decided to go with a 4 4 x leg with lap joint.
We tried to leave about a 1 16 lip all the way around for some. So i simply measured the width of my paint stick and then multiplied it by four to determine the length. In this video i used. With the exception of a few pieces of scrap 1 x 4 s this table top was built entirely out of cheap construction grade studs. In this video i walk you through the steps i use to set up my herringbone top tables. After flipping the table over we cut 1 1 2 strips of maple to trim out the edges of the table and routed the top and bottom corners with a 1 4 roundover bit.
